These Terms govern (a) your use of the House of Monatic WEBSITE, and (b) purchases of goods/services made through our online store. By using the site, you accept these Terms.

Full price disclosure: All prices shown include VAT (15%), and any additional fees (e.g., delivery) are disclosed before checkout.

Payment methods: [cards/instant EFT/etc]; processed via Payfast using a secure payment system meeting accepted standards at the time of transaction.

2. Eligibility & account

You must be 18+ and have the capacity to contract. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.

3. Ordering process

We will confirm receipt of your order by email. A binding sale is formed when we accept your order and receive payment. We may reject orders for legitimate reasons (e.g., stock errors, payment risk).

4. Pricing & availability

We send electronic marketing only with your prior opt‑in consent, or if you’re an existing customer and the law permits an opt‑out model for similar products/services. Every message includes a free, simple unsubscribe. We will not contact you again if you opt out. We may send one message to request consent where permitted.

5. Payment & security

Payments are processed by Payfast. We do not store full card details. We use industry-standard safeguards and expect our processors to comply with PCI DSS. If our payment system is not sufficiently secure as required by ECTA, we may be liable for damage suffered (ECTA s43(6)).

6. Delivery

Courier: Fastway (or equivalent). Delivery areas: All around South Africa only. Indicative timeframes and costs are shown at checkout and in your order confirmation. Risk transfers on delivery to your nominated address; ownership passes on full payment.

7. Returns, refunds & cooling off

- Defective goods: If goods are defective, unsafe, or not of acceptable quality, you may, within 6 months of delivery, return them at our risk/expense for your choice of repair, replacement, or refund. If the repair fails within 3 months, we must replace or refund. Normal wear/tear, misuse, or damage from incorrect care is excluded.

- Change of mind for electronic sales: For most online purchases of goods, you may cancel within 7 days after delivery for a full refund (less direct return costs if you cancel for convenience). Exclusions apply (e.g., personalised/ custom goods; unsealed health/hygiene items; goods which by nature cannot be returned). 

- Direct marketing cooling off: If your order resulted from direct marketing (e.g., outbound call/SMS/email) you may cancel within 5 business days after delivery or conclusion (whichever is later). 

- How to return: Email admin@monatic.co.za with your order number, reason, and photos (if defective). Use our prepaid label or arrange drop-off at 2 Von Wielligh Street, Pretoria West, 0183. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within a reasonable period, but will be processed within 30 days for cancellations.

8. Product descriptions & images

We try to be accurate, but minor variations in colour/finish may occur. Packaging may differ from images.

9. Vouchers, coupons & gift cards

Promotions have stated validity periods and conditions. Gift cards are non-redeemable for cash except to the extent required by law.

10. User content & acceptable use

If you post reviews, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display them. Don’t post unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or abusive content. We may moderate/remove content that breaches these Terms.

11. Limitation of liability

We do not limit liability where the CPA prohibits it (e.g., gross negligence, personal injury caused by defective goods). Otherwise, to the maximum extent permitted, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Total liability for claims arising from a transaction is limited to the amounts paid for the relevant order.

12. Warranties

Statutory warranties under the CPA apply. Any manufacturer’s warranties are in addition to, not instead of, your statutory rights.

14. Complaints & disputes

Please email admin@monatic.co.za. If unresolved, you may approach the Consumer Goods & Services Ombud (CGSO) or applicable industry ombud, or the courts. South African law applies; jurisdiction: South African courts.
