100 Year Celebration

House of Monatic has its roots in the pioneering clothing industry of South Africa. It is the result of the amalgamation of suit makers M. Bertish & Co (1909), shirt makers I.L. Back &Co. (1909), trouser makers Alba Trading (1920) and finally, shirt makers Monat & Co. (1926), from which the House of Monatic name is derived.

Today House of Monatic is the leading manufacturer of suits, jackets, trousers, shirts and ties in South Africa, with the head office and main manufacturing plant based in the shadow of Table Mountain, overlooking the Cape Town harbour.
